The PosiTector® SST Soluble Salt Tester is a professional-grade instrument engineered to accurately measure soluble salt contamination on metal surfaces—a critical step in surface preparation before coating or painting. It determines the concentration of salts using the Bresle Method, in full accordance with international standards ISO 8502-6 and ISO 8502-9, ensuring reliable and repeatable results for industrial, marine, and corrosion control applications.
Equipped with a conductivity probe specifically designed for the Bresle method, the PosiTector SST measures and displays key parameters including test duration, sample temperature, conductivity (µS/cm), and surface density (mg/m² or µg/cm²). The intuitive 1-2-3 gage interface guides users seamlessly through the test process, making it ideal for both experienced professionals and new operators.
The instrument features a large 2.8″ impact-resistant color touchscreen and a redesigned keypad for quick menu navigation. Built for tough environments, its IP65-rated enclosure is weatherproof, dustproof, and water-resistant, ensuring reliable operation in field conditions.
The PosiTector interchangeable platform allows the SST probe to be used with any PosiTector gage body, offering flexibility across multiple inspection tasks such as coating thickness, surface profile, dew point, and more. Data management is simplified through USB, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth connectivity, compatible with PosiSoft software for PC, Mac, and smartphones.
Each device comes with a Certificate of Calibration traceable to NIST (Long Form), ensuring precise and verified measurements. The PosiTector SST conforms to major global and military standards, including ISO 8502-6/9, US Navy PPI 63101-000, NAVSEA NSI 009-32, AS 3894.6, IMO MSC.215(82), IMO MSC.244(83), SSPC Guide 15, ISO 11127-6, and ASTM D4940.
