The PosiTector® RTR 3D Replica Tape Reader is an advanced digital instrument engineered for precise measurement and recording of 2D and 3D surface profile parameters on blasted or textured coatings. Using Testex Press-O-Film™ replica tape, this digital spring micrometer provides fast, reliable, and repeatable readings without the need for calibration adjustments in most applications.
Equipped with a 2.8-inch impact-resistant color touchscreen and an intuitive, redesigned keypad, the PosiTector RTR 3D ensures effortless operation in both field and laboratory environments. To measure, simply burnish the replica tape on the prepared surface, insert it into the gauge, and instantly view detailed 3D imagery and comprehensive parameters such as Ra, Rq, Rz, Rp, Rv, Rt, Rpc (2D) and Sa, Sq, Sz, Sp, Sv, Spd (3D).
The device is ideal for assessing surface roughness on flat, curved, or irregular surfaces, ensuring maximum flexibility for coatings inspection and surface preparation verification. Measurement data and 3D .SDF image files can be easily downloaded for detailed evaluation in PosiSoft or compatible third-party software.
